DIY Shellac Removal

Ladies, we've had lots of customers asking us how to remove Shellac nails and whilst we always recommend coming back to the salon for this, we also understand that time and money is not always permitting.  If you can get down to us, we charge £5 for removal, file and buff, or we do it Free of Charge if your renewing your Shellac on the same day!  but if you need to do it yourself, then we want you to do it right, so weve outlined the simplest and most effective home removal procedure for you to follow.  but do take care not to damage the nail bed. x  Oh yes nearly forgot... you will need to pop into a pharmacist to pick up a bottle of Acetone, Im afraid we are not permitted to sell it through a salon.

and now for the DIY bit
You will need
Pure Acetone (polish remover with acetone is not as effective)
10 small squares tinfoil 3"x 2"
10 cotton pads
wooden hoof stick
cuticle and hand cream

Process (approx 30 mins)

1. Wash their hands thoroughly with soap and towel dry.
2. soak a pad in acetone and wrap one finger, tucking over the top of the nail, then seal tight with the tinfoil
3. repeat this process for each finger finger

4. Leave for ten minutes.
5. Securely grip each finger and apply slight pressure to the fingernail.
6. Using a twisting motion, pull the wrap and product from the fingernail.
If a significant amount of Shellac remains on the nail (due to extended wear or other unique situations), repeat the process for just 4 minutes.
7. If necessary gently slide off any remaining product with the hoof stick taking care not to scrape away the surface layers of the natural nail.
9 Buff the nail and apply cuticle and hand cream
